Moto

{Dress: Forever, Boots: Vince Camuto, Jacket: BCBG (old)}

Lately, since I'm bored with winter, I've been experimenting with what's already in my closet. I find I try to get the most out of all my clothes, and don't limit them to the season when they were purchased. I bought this great dress in the summer, and haven't had a chance to wear it. Sometimes, simply adding a pair of tights to a summery dress can carry it to a different season.

Hope everyone's having a great week!

Chunky Knits

{Sweater: Forever 21, Jeans: J Brand, Boots: Sam Edelman, Watch: MK}

I am starting to get really sick of winter. Unfortunately for me, I think the cold season is going to stick around for a bit longer. I found this really cute chunky knit sweater at Forever. I have worn it more times than I thought I would. I like that it works with both blacks and browns. Versatile and contemporary!

What are some of your favorite chunky knit looks?

A Grey Day

{Sweater: Nordstrom now SALE, Skirt: Nordstrom now SALE, Ring: Catbird, Watch MK, Necklace: Francescas}

I wear black and grey more than I probably should. I find that I get much more wear out of my neutral clothes than my colorful clothes. It's just me, and I've found what works.

I encourage you to find a palette of colors that work for you. For me it's shades of black, brown, blue, grey and green.  Today, I was feeling grey- mostly to emulate the winter that we've had here.

I had been looking for the perfect faux leather skirt on a budget (that didn't look cheap) for a while, and was so happy to find this one from Nordstrom.

Give this look a try!

A Neutral Winter & Quick Manicure

This winter has been anything but desirable. For us, it's been snow, cold, snow and more snow. It's been impossible to stay warm, let alone worry about how to keep skin hydrated and nails manicured.

Finally, I discovered a new skincare line called Malin + Goetz. I use the neroli hand + body moisturizer. I bought it for the first time yesterday and already my hands are more hydrated than they've been in months.

I rarely ever get my nails done at a salon, so this post is dedicated to a home-manicure. It's simple, just cut your nails, use some cuticle cream, hydrate your hands and paint!

I used OPI's My Very First Knockwurst from OPI's Germany Collection.

I am coveting neutral nails right now, and love the clean classic look.

Be Bright.

I love nail polish, this is no secret. I usually paint my nails once a week, making sure to keep up with the latest trends.

In these dreary, winter months, it's always nice to brighten up your nails, even if they are your only bright accessory.

I've added some bright colors above, so put a smile on your face and try them!

1. OPI: Did It On 'Em
2. Essie: Mojito Madness
3. OPI: Do you Lilac it?
4. Essie: Fiji
5. Essie: Go Overboard
6. OPI: I'm All Ears
7. Essie: Case Study
8. OPI: Fly

A Winter Weekend

This long weekend was full of fun, and I can't believe that it's over! Relaxation filled my time, and I wouldn't have it any other way! We made a somewhat unexpected trip to my lake house to spend a few nights. I'm used to seeing the lake full of boats and fisherman, but this trip, all I saw were ice fisherman! My fiance even decided to walk on the lake ice...something I wouldn't dare try myself!
Hopefully everyone caught up on much needed rest this weekend!

Meal: Healthy Stir-Fry

I have been making a conscious effort to exercise and eat right lately. The only problem is, I'm always so tempted by food. When I think of being hungry, I just want to cleanse my pallet with something delicious. I have found a recipe that is both satisfying and tasty!

This stir-fry is makes for a great, healthy meal.
What you'll need:

1 zucchini
1 cup uncooked rice (white or brown)
1 cup of frozen shrimp (substitute chicken or beef if you're not a seafood person.)
As much stir-fry sauce as you want!

{Cut your zucchini and add to a pan.}

 {If you want to add meat, do the same in a pan.}

{Add a bit of oil.}

{Put your rice in to cook, and steam.}

{Wash your shrimp for 3-4 minutes under cold water.}

{Add the shrimp to the pan with the zucchini.}

{Cook and stir until both are a golden color.}

{Add your rice to the plate, then the shrimp and zucchini. Add stir-fry sauce as wanted.}

{Eat and enjoy!}
