Endless Love

Our book club book that I just picked up from the library today. Looking forward to diving deep into the text with a hot cup of tea tonight!

My engagement ring, reminding me that we have just hit the 3-month mark until our wedding day!

A sweet little notebook with a powerful quote.

My favorite new accessory from Catbird. I can't wait to add more dainty vibrant rings from Catbird to my collection. I never take my ring off!

Two roses from my Valentines Day bouquet that I decided to pull out and dry.

Spring Makeup Tips

I've been feeling pretty drab lately with my winter makeup routine, so I recently paid a visit to the MAC counter to see what they had to say. After sitting in the chair for a few minutes, I realized that I was probably going to walk out of the store with more makeup than I originally anticipated - and I did!

What I learned is that we go through phases and routines, and tend to stick with makeup regimens that work for us. There's nothing wrong with that, but sometimes even just switching up your lip color can make a big difference. Here's my how-to instructions on MY spring makeup!

1. Start with a clean face.

3. In a T motion, brush the base on your face.

4. Start with your foundation. I use MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC15.

5. In that same T motion, brush the fluid on your face, making sure to get in all the creases.

7. If you're like me, you need to pencil in your eyebrows. My brows always look more fresh with a bit of color. For this, I use just a cheap eyebrow pencil from Sephora, but feel free to use any that match your brows.

8. Now it's time to add your blush. I absolutely LOVE my new MAC blush "Azalea in the Afternoon."

9. Stroke the blush starting farther back on your cheekbone. The key with blush is to build it on gradually, not just with one stripe.

10. Now it's time for eyes. For this I used Girlie Satin Eyeshadow. Brush along your lid.

11. Add your crease color. I used Patina Frost.

12. Brush in the crease, and keep building on the color gradually.

13. Mascara is next. MAC False Lashes in Black I used.

14. Top your look off with some lipstick (I used MAC Faux) and you're ready to hit the town!

Cargo

{Jacket: Daniel Rainn (TJ Maxx) | Jeans: Free People | Booties: DV | Bracelet: DY}

I love to wear black, there's no secret about that. I was really excited to find this amazing cargo jacket from TJ Maxx - great find, and also lightens up the black look!

The zipper detail is perfect, and really gives an edgy feel to this piece. I also added a simple braid to my hair. Sometimes, it's nice to just braid back your bangs and go for the day.

Want to try this braid to your hair? I have step-by-step instructions here.

Spring Forward

{Dress: H&M | Jacket: Gap | Booties: Vince Camuto (similar here)}

I (like everyone else) need spring to come fast! I decided to stay in and and add some color to my wardrobe. I recently purchased this cute little dress at H&M and am loving the versatility of it.

Looks like we should only have just a few more weeks of winter and we'll be in the clear.

What are some outfits/ways you are beating the winter blues and springing forward?

Rope Vase DIY

I've been wanting to make a rope vase for a while, and finally got around to doing it! Below are step by step instructions on how to do it!

What you need:

Start by gluing your rope to the bottom of the vase.

Keep wrapping your rope around the vase. Put a dot of glue on each side to secure the rope. Make sure the rope is right around the vase.

Once you get to the top, secure your glue and cut the excess.

Fill with flowers and enjoy your new DIY rope vase!

Boyfriend Jeans

{Blazer: ABS | Jeans: Gap Boyfriend | Shoes: Betsy Johnson | Sweater: Forever | Bracelet: DY }

Since it's chilly and snowy outside, I decided to stay in for these photos.

I really love the idea of dressing up a simple pair of jeans - like the boyfriend. It's a classic, yet sophisticated look. I feel I have always struggled with ways to wear my boyfriend jeans.

If you're having trouble styling your boyfriend jeans, think about dressing them up a bit. Add a pair of pumps or wedges for a more feminine look.

What's your favorite way to wear boyfriend jeans?
